My experience through 160 driving academy was a challenge but Julie got me the help I needed in order for me to get my permit. I struggled I was stressed I never really was good at taking test, when I got my permit after tutoring I was happy but that was only one part of the battle prior to getting my CDL. If it wasn’t for Julie’s help I wouldn’t be where I’m at she’s helped me when it came to motivation when I was at the yard practicing I thought driving trucks was going to be easy it wasn’t at all I failed so many times in order for me to pass and get moved to a test date it was funny how I pass pretrip and skills with flying colors but my road I failed the first time but I learned I was upset at times and I was motivated to get my CDL so I can make more money my goal is to drive for ups the company I currently work for and to live a happier life with my family. Julie and the team at 160 really helped me stay motivated even when I was loosing hope for myself. I really love what they did, one day I will come back to the classroom and the yard in my ups uniform if I’m allowed or driving my dream car just to say thank you again.

Attending 160 Driving Academy was a very rewarding experience. All of the instructors I met were very knowledgeable, and shared tips on the trucking world from their own experiences. The classroom experience was invaluable, because the instructor goes over all the rules and regulations you need to be abiding by. While also going into detail and giving examples of proper ways to go about things. My branch manager Julie, goes above and beyond for all of her students. She was always reachable with any questions or concerns I had, and made sure to check in time to time on my progress at the training yard. Speaking of, the training yard was a great experience. The instructors there were fantastic. Each and everyone of them wants to see you get your license, and do their best everyday to help you accomplish that goal. By the time my test day came I was more than confident in my ability to perform the test. If you show up each day, work hard, study, and allow yourself to be taught. You will be just fine. Fast paced school, but you are provided with everything you need to pass the state’s exams. Julie Mensching was my branch manager, beautiful personality, and very encouraging! Side note: Do Not waste yard time studying the preTrip! Learn where everything is visually on the test truck, then study the script at home. Take advantage of the time in the yard only doing the things you Can Not do at home! Did not like the fact you are locked in the yard to prevent people from coming in late! Also felt like we needed more test trucks to practice on the road. They had some great, patient instructors! Overall thankful!
