One and done !
I recently earned my CDL at the Waukegan IL 160 Driving Academy! The title says it all. The training staff is beyond knowledgeable about all things related to driving a truck! Due to their knowledge and patience in training me, I was ‘one and done’ …of course that means I tested once on the 5 areas and passed ALL on my first attempt! I am really excited ! The trainers…Cesar, Mike, Dan, Pedro, and Mark couldn’t have been more helpful and knowledgeable! Super nice, super friendly guys it was like being among friends. They got us ready to pass the IL test and taught us many things about real truck driving on the road everyday and how to always be thinking and preparing for the unexpected when you’re on the road. This was a great experience thanks to Sherrod White & Staff. I more than likely wouldn’t have attained my CDL’s without them. They are excellent at teaching and compromising with the students. As long as you are willing to learn, you will be taught and receive more than what you need to attain your license. Great EXPERIENCE HIGHLY RECOMMENDED

If you really desire to get your CDL 160 is the school to go to, especially the Waukegan location!!! The Team they have there will make sure you obtain your license the first try. Shoutout Pedro Dan Moneymike and Caesar for helping me succeed now it’s time to get this money on the road!

I had a great experience while attending the 160 driving academy. The personnel was very friendly, helpful, and patient with their students. Everything was straight forward and they even went out their way to get me an earlier test date than originally scheduled. Overall 10/10

Exceptional training staff
I had a great experience with 160 personnel. The training was everything I needed to obtain my commercial drivers license, from the first day in classroom with the hands on instruction, to the actual yard training (which consisted of learning how to maneuver and drive the semi’s). My very first encounter was with Tre. He was very knowledgeable and made it easy to understand his direction. He taught me pre-trip basics and straight backing on my first day! Darnel was extremely thorough in his approach; and very particular. I love that he provided explanations in his method as it made the lessons easy to retain. Geo was awesome because he specialized in simplicity - which is what I needed after understanding the methodology in Darnell’s instruction. Geo kept it plain and simple and I appreciated that! Darrel and Tre always ensured my grades were updated properly. Derek was absolutely amazing as well. He was my go-to contact person if I needed to inquire about anything outside of class. He was easily accessible. I really appreciated that. Both Derek and Darnel kept everything (and everyone) running smoothly. Tim and Paul were excellent. Although I never had the opportunity to work with them on the yard because I didn’t utilize a manual truck, they were both very personable and knowledgeable about all the ins and outs of trucking and all that it entailed. I learned a lot …and the process was enjoyable. They each added their own spice and made it easy to stay motivated to return to training each day. I’m now a professional driver! Thanks 160!
