At 160 Driving Academy, every student has a story—and for Asa T. from Ivy Tech Lawrenceburg, it’s one of resilience, support, and transformation.

Asa describes his journey to a CDL as “the best experience ever,” but it didn’t come without challenges. Like many aspiring drivers, Asa faced obstacles before even setting foot on the training lot. What made the difference? A team that refused to give up on him.

“Through all the struggles I went through trying to get to a CDL school, 160 Driving reached out to me on a daily basis and walked me through every step of the way.”

The personal outreach from the Lawrenceburg staff—especially Amanda, Madison, and Monica—made all the difference. Asa says their care, encouragement, and commitment gave him the strength to keep pushing forward.

“They never gave up on me… With their help, I am now on my way to success.”

Once in the program, Asa found more than just training—he found a community. New friendships formed quickly, and the respectful, encouraging environment left a lasting impression.

He also praised the hands-on training and teaching style at the yard:

“The way they teach you at the yard welds the information in your brain. When I went to test at the big yard, it was just like another day at the training yard. It came so natural and so easy.”

Asa’s success is a testament to the impact of great instruction and even greater support. He’s now equipped with the skills, confidence, and motivation to move forward in his career.

To Amanda, Madison, Monica—and everyone at the Lawrenceburg location—Asa has one final message:

“Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
