I went to the Houston Location(Oates Rd) and must say everything is a learning process, and will take time. What I can say is, the instructors there two in particular, one being Mr. G, who is the most knowledgeable and most helpful person you would ever get to experience in this field. Not only does he know his stuff he is very passionate about teaching and it shows. He applied the knowledge in ways easiest to comprehend but also easy to execute on the yard, at the DPS and most importantly the world of TRUCKING. Since we can be hard on ourselves at time and become quite frustrating in the process, patience was needed and he was there thru the whole process in FULL support mode. Then there was Mr. Tim, my time spent with Mr. Tim was very short, but nevertheless much was learned from this gentleman here, his experience in the field made it easy to quickly fix any common mistakes keeping a few things in mind. He helped me master my ultimate fear…. Right turns and now I am a truck driver. Bring a woman coming into this field, 160 Driving Academy but most importantly my instructors gave me all the confidence to dominate this field and I will make them proud. If you want to drive trucks go to 160 Academy but if you want to master driving trucks you go to 160 Academy of Houston and get the best hand down training from Mr. G and Mr. Tim. Thanks for making this experience pleasant for me. And thanks 160 Academy from the class to the yard.
This school was everything I could ask for. Was kind of worried about the fast pace but thanks to Mrs TC and her tough love I was able to drill that pre-trip in my head and had Mr G and Javier to help with the tips and tricks of moving the trailer where I need it to go. The first week I went from not even being able to do a straight back and thanks to these awesome instructors and people I was able to be 1 and done👌🏾
So i was at the woodforest location in houston 160 driving academy is an awesome school i give special thanks to mr. Tim he was really a great instructor he was patient and he didnt mind repeating himself he also had multiple ways of explaining things in case you dont understand. That man def deserves a raise all of the other instructors was good as well so you can go wrong with 160 driving academy
My experience with this school was the best. Quick fast and easy. I learned a lot and the instructors was the best for the Sunday thru Wednesday class. They helped me pass the first try and now I’m to my career. Thank You 160!
I highly recommend 160 driving academy. Tim at the Woodforest location was instrumental in getting me started in class ASAP. And I have to give a special thanks to Mrs. TC, at the training yard, along with Steve, and Mr. G. These guys are awesome training instructors, very patient and will give you exact instructions on what to do, and how to do it. If you listen to what Mrs. TC tells you she'll put you right down the middle every time on offsets, and 100% in the box on parallels. When it's test day, don't get nervous, just do everything exactly as you did on the yard, pre trip, backing skills, in cab, and (LAB) leaks, alarms, and button pop test and you too can be one and done. Listen to the instructors, learn from the mistakes that you make, learn your spacial awareness, understand how and when the trailer is going to react, because you are driving the trailer not the truck. Thank You everyone at 160 Driving Academy it's far and away the best place to train for your CDL.
Great school, Brian and Juan Wednesday through Saturday shift instructors were really good, great teachers explained everything so thoroughly I recommend the Wednesday-Saturday Brian and Juan will make sure you pass your test!!! These guys a more than qualified to teach this class!!!!
The training was excellent and set me up for immediate success. Thanks to Jimmy, Jeremy, Rob, Scott, and everyone for teaching me how to drive and be safe on the road! I would tell anyone to attend here!
Really enjoyed my experience at 160, I had a small class during the holidays with some bad weather sprinkled in. But Ms. TC, Mr. G, Steve all did a great job at making the most of the time we had. 3 weeks to learn everything you need to pass is a bit intimidating but they worked great together and ensured we had all the training and knowledge needed to pass the test one the first try. I decided to get mine with the manual endorsement and Mrs G couldn't have been anymore patient and caring and supportive through the whole process. I watched him calm down a student that was spiraling. He talked him back to calm and he was able to finish the day's driving out like a pro. Thanks 160!!
Hi I’m know as One And Done I just got my CDL from 160 Driving Academy . Let me tell you this the school is straight forward I sent a meeting up with the lady’s in the office they told me how much I need to pay our go to the Workforce and they get you write. So I did just that all in a mouth and two week Dec 12 I tell you I killed my Pre Trip And 3 Maneuvers and Drive Time. They Team from night shift I ant gone lie way better thin day shift and I’m not the one to kiss you know. My trainer Aron And Tyson the was the truth they know what they talking about and know if you believe in your self they being it out you just have to trust what there saying and do it the way they said it. I’m not gone drag this out cause I couldn’t say a lot but just hit me if anybody have Questions if always down to help ask Aaron our Tyson I help for two weeks knowing I had a test day and still God made away.
