Overall, I had a very positive experience with 160 Academy Carneys Point, NJ. Anthony- Manager Approachable, open for communications & his support for the student is very strong, he is always there very early in the morning to look over the program & ask each of the students if they have questions or concerns. Tony-Lead Instructor He is very helpful with anything you ask, especially in maneuver exercises & the test exam process it self. Will-Yard Instructor He is very helpful with the students regarding the Pre-trip process of the vehicle and trailer, about the Air brakes process and he explains things clearly and easy to understand. John-On the road Instructor He is very thorough in teaching students while driving on the road. Very helpful in providing tips on how to apply the right maneuvers & techniques while you are out there driving.

I had a great time while attending the school. I made a lot of amazing people instructors and students both included. Trucks weren’t the best, but they were well maintained and that’s what counts! The instructors show tough love which I think will help a lot of people out here on the road, the road isn’t the nicest place and some of these drivers aren’t the nicest people. Leave your feelings at home and come in with an open mindset. The yard was kind of packed with students and there was a very high student to instructor ratio, but if there weren’t students coming in and wasting time then there would be room for new students. Overall the staff was exceptional! I appreciate everyone I dealt with from Greg the yard manager to Sharese my branch manager, everyone had a great spirit! They all had one common goal and that was to make sure you got your license and got on the road. Thanks for a dream come true 160!
Best training
My experience is Super great, thanks to all I start to drive for Horman is down in the road and now work for Marten and do great miles. Thanks again for be so great teachers and hope to stop by one of this days to say Hi.
160 driving academy
As a new student, I didn’t know anything about the trucks and how safety really took in affect. Knowing what I know now, makes me more aware of my surroundings when driving. Instructors were very efficient about the course and they were very helpful.
Honest Review
Branch Manager Joe did a great job of working around my complicated schedule to get me in as fast as he could and was there through every phase, I recommend the Milwaukee Branch. At the yard most of my dealings were with Jim the lead and Jack one of the head instructors. I believe they worked hard to get me the tools I needed to pass the exam and get me into employment which is the goal. Jack was especially instrumental in giving me step by step instruction and then how to troubleshoot when things don't go as planned, bad set ups, mistakes, etc...which is invaluable as nothing ever goes as we plan, I think she would make a great lead instructor as well. Jim works his butt off to do what he can for you but this is where my honesty comes in and I feel I would be doing an injustice by not mentioning this, there seems to be a very large disconnect between upper management and yard needs. Trucks were broke 100% of the time, not near enough instructors for the amount of students, and new students just kept pouring in overwhelming the entire class, I feel I would have been done with the class a month earlier had that not been going on. I will say they have made huge strides and improvements to help future students, hiring more instructors, and buying new trucks, and this is the only reason I am willing to give it 5 stars still. I do feel the school is now in a much better position to grow and take on students then when I started. Overall a great learning experience and value for the money.
Top notch
First I wish I could give way more stars! From first day on phone Tiffany was a complete sweet heart she is top notch and helpful and bent over backwards with information for me . Then Randy!! what incredible teacher he above and beyond top notch and he knows how to teach all different types of people and I am a hard one since I’m a over thinker🤪. He goes above helping anyway he can. He actually shoveled and but salt down. He was a 💯 hands on instructor! If you listen and take his advice you will get your CDL! He has the most incredible Patients he deserves a golden star ⭐️. I owe Tiffany and Randy so much for all they did for me . Thank you both so much!!!
I passed
Great experience learning what was needed to get my Class A CDL license at the SCDMV. The instructors will give you everything that is needed you just have to want to learn. Just don't know when I will stop saying properly mounted and secured in my head.
BEST DRIVING ACADEMY, EVER!!!!
My experience was everything I hoped it would be. Branch manager Agata went above & beyond to help me in every way I needed it. From start to finish, she was there not only to answer my questions & get the ball rolling, but she helped to motivate me & built my confidence. She treated me as a friend instead of a student. I was greeted with the same love by the instructors on the yard. They always motivated me, and never made me feel silly when I made mistakes. Every staff member was a godsend to me getting my CDL. They all said I would & I did. I couldn't imagine getting my CDL anywhere else.
SUCCESS !!!
I paid for my training out of pocket for starters. I can say that the 160 platform is very solid and all the staff from William in the front office to the instructors on the ground at the training site are all locked on .....Levi...Justin and Joe ....it was great training with you fellas, my experience was a good one and made some great new friends, thank you one an all and God Bless.
