My experience was better than I thought it would be. Appreciate my instructors: Jesse, Doug, Andy, and Ms. Tiffany. DOT AND CLEARING HOUSE guidelines explained and implemented during class hours. Great guidance on how to perform pre-trip inspections, double clutching, downshifting(it’s very important), parking, and safely adjusting to city and highway traffic! If your looking for a amazing CDL experience 160 is the route to go!

My instructor prepared me for success

My experience was everything I wished for and more. I originally wanted to go to school 2 years ago but couldn’t afford it and didn’t have any resources my school advisor Michelle was so patient with me and every time we got a no she encouraged me to keep trying not to give up on my goal and dreams. Fast forward I finally got the funding situated and I was time to start class. I was able to go to school from home because I worked two jobs at the time. Classroom was full of knowledge and a teacher that gave me nothing but facts and no personal point on to follow what the book tells you. Finished the course in a week. Next it was time to take the yard. When I got to the yard I met SUE !!!!!! The absolute g.o.a.t. I would not have made it past my offsetting with out her patience and attention to how I learn best. Sue was so hand on. She told class not to rush and finish but take learning this movements seriously and know why your doing the movement and how to fix yourself out of a wrong movement. If I had questions which was often and a lot of question I asked we talked about them then we practiced then we got out of the truck to look at how we got there. This will always be a mentor in my life. And I will never forget SUE out of Puyallup Washington I highly recommend this program to everyone I come in contact with because from start to end I got endless support and direction. I didn’t feel like a number or rushed. I felt heard I felt respected I felt like yeah this is exactly where you need to be and I was welcomed. That was so important to me and will forever be grateful that we got this CDL A together. Definitely the biggest win in my whole entire lifeeeeeeeeee!!!! Thanks 160 driving academy keep going keep changing peoples love for trucking into a career. I hope you guys are around for a long time so when I get done with my training over the road I can give back and be a teacher like Sue one day.

Great Instructors at 160 Academy Shreveport,LA

Our instructor Mr.Terry is patient very knowledgeable when he is giving instructions. He describes what you need to do to correct your driving skills. Mr. Brown is also very knowledgeable as well as he teaches you how to shift gears and down-shift gears. The school is blessed to have both of them here at 160 Driving Academy in Shreveport,LA 71119. Oceanside 160 the best out their hands down

I recently attended 160 Driving Academy and had a really good experience. All the instructors and staff were supportive and actually cared about us doing well. Big thanks to Juan, Winton, Mark, German, and Alen for being a solid group of trainers. I especially want to shout out Winton for being patient with me, coaching me, and giving me helpful advice along the way, and for always looking out for his students. I also want to thank Juan for always checking in on our progress and making sure we were ready to pass. Overall, I’m thankful for the experience and would definitely recommend 160 Driving Academy to anyone looking to get their CDL.

Julie at Palos Hills Is the Best!

I had a great experience at 160 Driving Academy for my CDL. The whole process was smooth and professional. Special shoutout to Julie, the Branch Manager at the Palos Hills location — she was the best, very patient, knowledgeable, and made everything easy to understand. Highly recommend!

frustrated

From the start was good but after that was not good wasn't in class but a couple days a week for like 4 to 5 hours for training. I have been waiting over 5 months to take my test to graduate with my CDL license and get a job. The people at the school don't seem to care to get the students in for testing now that they got my money for the class.

Great experience start to finish!

Met with Jennifer, Baytown Branch Manager, on Friday afternoon, and was sitting in the classroom on Monday morning beginning my professional driving careers. Jennifer is always on top of every piece of the entire process to make sure every student progresses through the training, and sets you up for physical, drug screen, and written test appointments with the DMV without delay. She is truly top notch! The 40 hour classroom training was interesting. That made the week go by fast. I took every practice exam on available in the training portal, and was engaged every day on the classroom instruction. I passed all parts of the written exam on the same day, and even passed the tanker endorsement. The 120 hour training at the yard was also a very exciting and fun experience. Interacting with the instructors, whom are all expert drivers with many years of experience, was the best. They each shared their many real life experiences… the good, the bad, and the ugly! I got a lot of valuable insight about how to use my skills to think and work through many different issues that may arise while on the road. On top of that, they all knew the entire curriculum very well. We were taught how to conduct a thorough pre-trip inspection, and were tested many times. I can sing the pre-trip inspection my sleep to any tune that you would like to hear. They teach you how to complete the range skills maneuvers, and are always testing your progression. The road training was equally excellent. All of the instructors have more patience than the Pope, and are always calm in every situation. They know when to let you work through a problem and when they need to step in to help. Mr G, the training lead at the HOU2 yard runs a tight school. He gives every instructor and student their marching orders both morning and afternoon in order to facilitate a comprehensive training schedule every day. He rotates instructors around each group of students, and pairs the students perfectly to achieve quality learning. Although Mr G is busy running the yard, he will not hesitate to step in and personally show you how to master every piece of the training. All of the instructors are very much expert drivers! Mr Cordell, Mr Harold, Mr Ozzie, and Mr Danny each have their own unique way of teaching, and are all very effective at teaching new drivers. Safety is always top priority at all times! They teach safety, they practice safety. We even had spur of the moment safety stand-down meetings when Mr G would see a pattern of unsafe acts that students were not aware of what they were doing. You would hear the whistles blow and the instructors pointing to the outside meeting area. Everyone knew to shut down the trucks and muster to hear what Mr G had to say, and what he had to say was always valuable. I can’t say enough good things about my experience. I got my CDL, and enjoyed every minute of the training process.
