Overwhelming at first but throughout the time there the service and staff were great to get you on track and break it down easier than expected.
⭐️Best instructors & Driving School 10/10 ⭐️
Dear 160 Driving Academy Team, I am writing to share that I had the best experience at 160 Driving Academy that I could’ve ever hoped for. The instructors were amazing and patient throughout the entire process. Danny was super knowledgeable and inspirational. Driving with him, you felt guided by a professional; his knowledge was evident with every correction he made. He showed us exactly what to do and how to correct old bad driving habits, providing us with tools that taught us the importance of taking the right steps at the right time. All the students in the truck left feeling inspired and excited for the next lesson. Gaven was a fantastic addition to the team and was instantly appreciated by everyone! He joined the team and immediately showed his worth. He showed us how to downshift and offset like it was a hidden talent we all possessed all along. His patience and focus gave us the drive to perfect our skills every time we got in the truck with him. "Too much clutch" was his famous saying, and he dialed us in until we had the right pressure and confidence to clutch gently like it was second nature. His focus on technical details, ensured we developed the right pressure and confidence. Belay provided vital insight into the professional world beyond school. He emphasized the importance of safety and professionalism, ensuring we understood what it takes to do the job well so that everyone returns home safely to their families The individual attention they provided taught everyone in one-on-one ways how to be professional drivers. It was completely hands-on, and I couldn’t ask for a better team to instruct us. They didn’t just rush our course; they wholeheartedly showed us how to learn the skills we needed and clearly take great pride in teaching. They are very humble and completely professional. We didn’t just learn how to pass a test; we learned life lessons on being professional drivers. T ran the yard with respect and admiration, fine-tuning all the instructors to reach their full potential while also stepping in to show the students exactly how it was done. They made everyone feel safe and confident. The process wasn't rushed, but professionally executed. We left with life skills and the feeling of being part of a family. Thank you for such a positive experience. Best regards, Eddie A

Driving Academy 160 was hands down the best driving experience ever. I had an excellent experience with Driving Academy 160, and I want to personally recognize T. Lopez for her outstanding support and professionalism throughout my training. From day one, Ms. Lopez demonstrated a strong commitment to student success. She was knowledgeable, patient, and always took the time to make sure I fully understood each concept—both in the classroom and behind the wheel. Her teaching style is clear, direct, and effective, which made a huge difference in building my confidence as I progressed through the program. What stood out most was her ability to break down complex driving techniques into simple, practical steps. Whether it was mastering shifting, understanding safety procedures, or preparing for the CDL test, Ms. Lopez made sure I was well-prepared and comfortable every step of the way. Driving Academy 160 provides a solid foundation for anyone serious about getting their CDL, and having an instructor like Ms. Lopez makes the experience even more valuable. I highly recommend both the academy and T. Lopez to anyone looking for professional, high-quality training in the trucking industry.
Julie is the best
Great teaching, great help, great support. Julie is the lead teacher at the Palos hills location and she did everything to help everyone understand and learn at their own pace. She always offered extra help and would explain anything and everything if someone didn’t quite grasp the concept. She gives you the tools and knowledge you need to make sure you not only get your cdl, but are confident in it. The yard instructors guide you through each step and help build your confidence behind the wheel but for me it all started in the classroom understanding the basic to advanced details about driving a CMV and that’s all thanks to Julie at 160 in Palos Hills.
Julie is the best
160 was great, Julie made sure she takes care of her students and supports and provides them with everything they need in order to obtain their CDL. She would reach out before test days and make sure you had any and all paperwork needed plus any checks to cover the costs at the dmv. Highly recommend this institute and highly recommend the Palos Hills location.
Earning. Y cdl
The instructors are great. You couldn't ask for any better people to learn from. Alot of knowledge & history they have in the trucking industry. But the equipment needs to be updated. For the past month I've been trying to get my cdl test in & passed & both test dates the trucks have been down. I was supposed to went March 17th and March 31st today. There needs to be another alternative when this happens. Maybe a rental truck on standby or even better, get better equipment. This is frustrating knowing I'm ready to take my cdl test & pass.
160 Niles💪
Just want to say by experience there was great instructors really take their time to make sure you know what your doing…. Just want to get a good shout out to instructor Joel for being patient with me and making sure I was able to pass…. Would definitely recommend.

160 experience
I was passing by 160 in the shopping center, I decided to come in to see what it was about. I never really thought about truck driving. I met Sam the manager who explained everything and it got my interest in it. I revisited with my mom and we learned about the trucking industry and training again. then I decided to join. The student loan was the best for me and I recommend it. The classroom was beneficial and it was long but my favorite part of the program was driving. Switching gears was the best part, the hardest part was the pretrip but I knew I could pass it. The instructors were good I liked all of them. I got my license and I want to leave a review because they really helped me and the manager sam is helping me with my resume and finding a job. I hope I now can go over the road and go visit different places.
One and Done!
Thank you first and foremost to Julie! You are awesome! Julie helped me through the whole process of getting into the program and made the process stress free. She will be your biggest cheerleader to get you that CDL. She was great with communicating and giving me the information I needed to succeed. Was able to get my CDL as a one and done. 160 Driving Academy will give you the tools to succeed. You as the student need to apply yourself and want to learn and earn that CDL. The class room week will go over the basic knowledge and rules of the road. This will prepare you to take the permit test. Once you get to the yard you will learn how to operate the truck, driving, skills, and pre-trip inspections. This may seem overwhelming at first, but trust the process, study hard and often with the pre-trip. Pre-trip is something you can practice at anytime, whether at the yard or at home. Find something that can work for you to study. Use the yard time to focus on your driving and skills. When there is down time while you wait to get a turn at skills, study the out cab pre-inspection on a truck. Make use of your time there. The instructors are great and will help you to succeed, but they will not take you by the hand, you need to do the work and be applying yourself. And have confidence that you can do it.
