Great Instructors gave me all the great knowledge that I need to know about the 18 wheeler , also they were great hands on and pushed me hard to get my CDLs.
Be prepared
First, let me say that my experience was great. I looked at my 3 weeks at the yard as a boot camp for driving. One week is at a class room to prepare you for the permit test. Advise is don’t have frail skin or feelings that are easily upset. There’s a lot of info in a short time span. Students are encouraged to talk and help each other out. Instructors are wanting you to pass so listen and ask questions. Look at it as a job, and you’ll do fine. I think the Memphis yard is working on getting more trucks and a paved yard, but don’t use it as an excuse.

Thanks to 160 academy and to their instructors Aaron,Alex,and Tony.. they are all great and gave me the tools and skills I needed to achieve my goal on getting my CDL!!!!

Still waiting for the yard time after 5 1/2 weeks
Did all the class room back at the beginning of September and here it is November and still have not made it to the yard for the driving part did the physical for the DOT and even went and got my learners permit , we that we that were in the class together have all called left messages and got no response. Now there was 9 students in the class and 160 Driving Academy has already submitted a invoice for payment of just under $5,000.0 0 per person that equals out to $45,000.00 for a incomplete job of training. The people are nice but from what we have been going through and not learning anything is a bunch of BS.
DO IT!
My experience felt family oriented. The instructors are personal on all aspects and are very good at their jobs. I came in with an open mind and I am grateful I did. My expectations were different from my experience, but then again I had no idea of what to expect. My best advice is if at first it doesn’t seem fit for you, trust the process because it will turn around.
Great School
I Would like to give a big shout out to the instructors and managers. I never met a group of people that pushed me to my best potential ! Even though they had to work with broken trucks and a messed up yard , they still made sure they taught us everything and made sure you was ready before sending you out to test. They even believed in me when I didn’t believe in myself , I’m glad they pushed me to my best ! Great school to attend. 💯💪🏽
One and done
The trainers at the Lexington location were absolutely awesome. I was nervous coming into learn a new trade. They had amazing patience,and insight. They made sure you understand how to do it , but go way beyond just getting you to good enough. Cheryl, Buck,Leslie,John,David,Ernie,Adrian,and Mark are the best I could have hoped for. My experience at 160 to say the least will alone rememberable from the training to the instructors and the friends made. 5 outa 5 stars all day everyday
Passing
I had a wonderful time taking this class and getting to learn all about semi trucks. I enjoyed working with both of the instructors and working in the classroom! They both were able to help me pass!

Through the time at the 160 driving academy in Southbend In I had a great experience an learned alot with my instructors an learned alot with them I’ve got a big thank you to my instructors Mike Ralph Pete and Dewithe I would highly recommend anyone to join the 160 school
