Five Stars Isn't Enough! Huge thanks to my primary instructor, Derek McCreary from Richmond, IN, and instructor Shawn from West Virginia! Derek is hands-down one of the best instructors in the business. His deep industry knowledge, incredible patience, and steady guidance made learning the ins and outs of heavy vehicle operation far less daunting. He takes the time to break down complex maneuvers until they feel second nature, building real confidence behind the wheel. A big shoutout to Shawn as well—even step-in coverage can be tough, but Shawn brought fantastic energy, sharp practical insights, and great reinforcement right when we needed it. Together, Derek and Shawn made the entire CDL training process supportive, rigorous, and rewarding. If you want instructors who genuinely care about safety, precision, and seeing you succeed, you couldn't be in better hands!

Mr. Tavarris Walker is by far the best CDL instructor at 160 Driving Academy. He’s knowledgeable, patient, and takes the time to make sure every student understands the skills needed to pass and become a safe, confident driver. His encouragement and hands-on teaching style made a huge difference in my training. I highly recommend Mr. Walker to anyone looking to earn their CDL. I just completed the cdl driving test today. The Houston location. I can't say better things about the instructors. Everyone of them or great instructorsa and just great guys in general. Don't be afraid to ask any questions. They will make sure you understand everything. Mr. G, Oz, Danny, Harold, Kordell. Thank yall for everything!

My experience at 160 academy was excellent. Ms. Holly and Travis were the best instructors. They were very helpful, informative, understanding and patience. They will make sure that you get your experience and prepare you for your exam. Only thing I request is they need to do is upgrade their trucks and yard but overall they prepared me to get my CDL. If you work hard and show that you are confident they will help you by all means. Thank you for everything. I’m so happy I chose 160 academy.

160 Palos Hills was the best decision I’ve made. Julie was awesome she answered all my questions, concerns and gave me the confidence I needed to get through the program and I did just that one & done!!!!!! For all the upcoming students study, follow instructions you’ll be fine.
