Overall great experience. Instructors were fantastic. I trained on manual transmission and Ryan was the man. Very patient and great teacher. Would recommend these guys to anyone.

Very useful information they helped break down manvers, it helped simplify the driving and backing up very hands on on how to break it down for someone who has had no experience thank you Ryan was very good teacher.
GOOD
My overall experience was amazing. Then instructors all know what they’re talking about so just listen to them and you’ll be fine. The only thing I have to say negative about drive 160, is they intake too many students at once to the point where there’s 4-5 students per instructor/truck so there could be days where you can only practice you skills/driving for 2 hrs a day and that’s if you’re lucky. Besides that this is an amazing school and I’m so glad I went! BE A ONE AND DONE!!

From my first meeting with Julie Mensching she was 100% on top of EVERYTHING. She was so resourceful, helpful, understanding, and “ Team Kim” from the very beginning. Having the support to reach beyond the classroom was so encouraging and helpful. Julie is there for you and will do whatever she can to help you go to the next level. Now I have my CLASS A license and a whole new family “””160 driving academy “””… Thanks to Greg, the Harvey yard(the ladies in the office, Rachel, Tim, & Ralph)& Gary, Indian yard team( Derek Mc Cree, William Shakespeare, , Paul, & Daryl)for going over and beyond during my yard training. THIS trucking academy is all about safety & performance.. ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Today is my last day of school. I test out tomorrow, I couldn’t be more prepared for my exam! Rob is a Fantastic trainer on the Rd. So calm and relaxed! AJ and Pat both have spent many hours quizzing and preparing me for pre trip and air breaks! Just an amazing experience all around! Best money I could have spent! So glad I chose driving 160 academy! Thanks guys for all you do!
Be ready to absorb and retain
Jessie is a wealth of information, high energy and focused on delivering the exact information you’ll need to pass the DMV test, on your very first day! Several students had commented about getting excellent tips- early on , which helped greatly in the yard and on the road. All of the instructors are clearly an asset , I enjoyed watching them work together! Thank you.

I’m thankful Ken Hobbs took the time to understand my issues with completing the 90 deg parking. I do believe he really helped me understand what I was lacking, thereby bring my skills up to enable me to back up into a 90 deg angle in less than three pull-ups. Thank you Ken.
Content with teaching
I loved my learning experience with Michael from the Clakamas office. He is super sincere, and related with my logic. He kindly showed me a perfect way to remember the in cab inspection and airbrake checks. Iam thankful that I got some time with him.
