Matt was super great to work with! My classmate and I easily connected with him, and the concepts he presented (a major one, downshifting with a manual transmission). He provided some easier techniques to enable a "passing" drive!! I also very much appreciated him passing on information regarding how the market is drastically changing from Manual to Automatic Semi's (labor & maint. costs as a reason for exp) With Matt, my worry (anxiety) vanished trying to learn the "double clutching, down shifting- give it a bump in between, and don't grind the gear (or its 13 pts off of your test score) - 25mph = 7 gear 2+5=7 and tach plcmnt. has a sweet spot of 10-14 ish...... ... OMGoodness Thank you Matt I realize I can achieve my Comm. Drv. Lic. and be proud of my progress driving an AUTOMATIC!!!! ; )
Great Instructor!
I felt I should review at least one outstanding instructor at I60 Driving Academy in Colorado. The new Lead instructor, MIKE SPEAKS, is such an amazing guy who is really doing his job with a passion. He is actively working with the students from morning to evening giving them step by step clear and concise instructions that make the backing maneuvers very easy. I would also like to appreciate the instructors Earl, Kevin and Josh. They seemed to be giving their best!
The word is out!
I am very impressed with the quality of the Reno location classroom and yard staff. The seamless transition from classroom to the yard was something to be admired. They demonstrated a very high level of professionalism and skill. The yard work was some of the best training I've ever received. Each instructor has their own information and skill to impart on their students. I couldn't have asked for better. All my questions and concerns were addressed in easy to follow instructions. Skills modules were progressed at a constant rate and were challenging enough to keep progress moving without compromising safety. They could have submitted me for taking the road test a week earlier than they did. Instead they waited the extra week, which proved the out with my "one-and-done" at DMV. Even though 160 cost a little more than the other Reno competitors, it was well worth the extra money. That is more than proven by the students that transferred to 160 from their competitors. I think the word is out, and the word is 160.

Had an amazing experience here!! Aron, Tony, and Ashley are an amazing team here! They were very accommodating and patient with my schedule. Not only that from a training perspective I did not feel rushed or pressured. They made sure I was ready for my test and felt completely comfortable behind the wheel. Thanks again guys!!!!!

Amazing
Absolutely wonderful experience and environment to be in and to learn in. The two instructors when I was there, jill and Anthony, have such pure hearts and truly care about every single person that walks in, and have all the skills necessary as well to not just teach you but to have you excel in all aspects of the training. It felt like they always knew exactly what to say or what was going on to help along as you learn. So thankful to have found 160 and those two, they got me the CDL after months of bad experiences with schools. I can't thank them enough to help me finally get my career and life started!!

The best professors, best way to learn, best study method, My experience as a Latino is that the best way to learn is to immerse yourself with Anglo teachers, it was difficult but I did it thanks to 160 driving academy, I recommend them 100%

Great place to learn
Honestly had a great time getting through this 160 program. There was a bit of a shift in staff while I was there , but it was for the better. T, one of the instructors at the yard is awesome. She has the patience of a saint and ya better listen up. She’ll have you going from lost in gears to gear jamin’ in no time. She knows the ins and outs of maneuvers, and also has a ton of tricks to guid you through different steps. I couldn’t have done so well with out her. thanks T !! Hats off to Mike for keeping everything running in the yard. Not only a fantastic instructor, but a great leader. Mike kept the yard operating safely and efficiently. This is the place to get what you need to pass your CDL exams. As with anything, you are in control of your own success. Listen to T, Mike and the other staffers. If you do your part, pay attention and show up. You’ll pass with flying colors. Thank you 160 !! I’ll always have friends there.
